    • Download a file/folder from an Archived group directly in your browser (2 GB max).

Does this mean that each file has a maximum size of 2 GB?

If I use ShareGate storage for Archive, will the files be maintained for as long as needed?

    Hi Ignacio,

The limit only pertains to downloading the 2 Gb file from your browser. If you were to download that file to a OneDrive to Business, larger files (up to 15GB) can be downloaded.

This is just to retrieve the files from your archives. When archiving, the app will tell you if there was any issues during the archival process and your Group will not get deleted. There should be no problem uploading files bigger than 2 Gb.

    Hi Shawn,

Archives are kept indefinitely. Even after your license expires you can retrieve your archive and move your data to OneDrive for Business.

Can you explain the difference to the normal teams archiving function and the apricot archive?. Actually, we don't want a separate archiving. But the idea of automatically asking users via email is great. Can we do that without the apricot archiving?

    Hello Esser,

ShareGate Apricot's goal is to provide simple, effective governance for Microsoft 365 Groups and Teams. Unlike the Microsoft Teams archiving function, everything can be done in one place through the app. You will always have full visibility on what was archived. Another perk as you said is the automatic emails, which you cannot send without archiving through Sharegate Apricot. Please note as well that ShareGate Apricot does allow you to use you own Azure storage account for your archived items if you need to.

    Thanks!
