You receive these emails when you have set up a default or custom External sharing review policy within the app.
An external sharing review lasts for 14 days from the day it started, meaning that owners have 14 days to review and remove the external sharing links and guests in their teams and groups. Owners will receive their first email notification at the start of the review, followed by a reminder 7 days later if they haven't completed the review for all their teams and groups yet.

ShareGate sends you 2 status emails related to the external sharing review process:
- The first email is triggered the day the review begins. The email includes information on which review is starting, if a sensitivity tag is involved, how many teams or groups will be reviewed, and a link to see the review details in the app.
- The second email is triggered when an external sharing review is completed. The email includes summary statistics, the schedule for the next review, and a link for more details.
Note: A review is marked as completed if all owners have completed their reviews, or if 14 days have passed since the start of the review (regardless of whether the owners have completed the review).
The email address that receives the external sharing review status email is the account linked to the Email sender in the Settings.
